Ischia in a day
Though I stayed there for four days, I only got to see it in a day. I did my research earlier on, so I already knew where to go and what to see and most importantly, what to buy. The most overwhelming monument in Ischia Port is the Castle Aragonese, built in the 1438 by Alfonso of Aragon. I caught this photo from the boat, and I even used it as the background for the main page of my slides! And please, the reflection? It’s fake like Faiez’s miniature. Hahah!
Parts of the castle were in ruins, which is just to my liking. Though tired from the scorching sun, the view from the castle was just priceless.
I loved how Ischia was very Mediterranean…it reminded me so much of the movie Desperado.
In Ischia was where I had my first taste of Neapolitan cooking, and let me tell you, that the spaghetti that this guy cooked, is the BEST I ever tasted!I would have had another plate…oh, if only it didn’t cost €12.50 for that one!!!
Ischia is well-known for handpainted ceramics and tiles, and they use it everywhere…house numbers and shop names..are all made from handpainted tiles. So of course I (dan seorang penyibuk bernama Sareque) just had to have one too.
All along the way was the beach, and everyone was in their bikinis getting a tan.
Though Ischia, like Capri, is a well known island holiday destination, it is known for its therapeutic thermal baths that came from its former volcanic origins and has sandy beaches, unlike Capri.
Oh and everybody on these two islands speak fluent Deutsch.
